Sympatico e-mail auto-forwarding

Is there a way to auto-forward e-mail (to work, say) with Sympatico?
Today I switched from their old webmail system, which allowed it, to
their new one, which appears not to.

This is very annoying, because (a) this feature is very, very important
to me, and (b) they assured me that the new "hotmail" service had all
the features of the old system.

Does anyone have a solution? Accessing the sympatico POP server from
work is not an option.

Thanks!

Are you talking about http://getemail.sympatico.ca/
Options -> Message Handling -> Forwarding Addresses
I still see the option there. How do you get to the new webmail system?

Hi, Madonna,

When you go to upgradecentre.sympatico.ca, they offer an upgrade to a
Hotmail version of webmail. Then, getemail.sympatico.ca takes you
there instead of the usual one. It's that new one that doesn't have
the option.

"They" is the 310-SURF technical support line.

And they say they can't transfer me back to the old webmail. Indeed,
they say that everyone will be forced to the hotmail version within a
year or so.

"They" is the 310-SURF technical support line.
Take anything "they" say with a grain of salt.
Bell reps often lie to customers to get their way (and their commission).
For example this week I was told (310-BELL not 310-SURF, but experience is often similar)
by a Bell rep that it was 'impossible' to not pay the 2.95$ 'network fee',
when I told the rep that one of my relatives wasn't paying it and insisted
they put me on hold, then one minute later the 'impossible' became reality...

The people answering 310-SURF know more about marketing than tech support.
If you want real tech support (someone who isn't reading you sentences
from a book) you need a 'level 2' or 'level 3' rep, I think you need to
ask a really technical question to get there, or maybe you can just ask
right away and see what happens.

As for the downgradecentre.sympatico.ca, if people want a Hotmail/MSN address
they can just get one directly from www.hotmail.com, no need to go through
sympatico, that way if you switch ISPs you don't have to change your
email address. You can also try yahoo.ca or GMail.com.

The other thing is sympatico email is Canadian jurisdiction whereas
MSN/Hotmail is US jurisdiction where Mr.Bush can look at your
email and tell your US competitor (e.g. if you work for Airbus
and you happen to have some company info pass by your account,
Boeing might get a 'tip'):

Of course they can (technically). They just don't want to (policy).
You might want to call them back and ask for the 'supervisor', who might
be able to help, otherwise you need to file a complaint with a place like
the BBB. That should get their attention.

Both Sympatico and Rogers have outsoruces their email to US firms who
won't exclude your information when the US regime wants to examine the data.

When the US regime asked the search engines for their data, do you think
that they wanted to restrict that only to US originated searches ? And
now that we have Bush's younger , less experienced borther (who also
admitted never having be outside north america BTW) in Ottawa, don't
expect our govermment to even complain when the USA wants access to
canadian data.

'Also'? He travelled outside North America.
George W. went many times to Saudi Arabia to visit the Bin Laden family:

Anyway this is waaaaay off topic.

The Patriot Act doesn't apply in Canada. Only Canadian laws do.
We also have a privacy commissioner: http://www.privcom.gc.ca/
You can even complain to her about Sympatico's outsourcing.
